中国的玉在物质层面有两个意思,一是玉石(jade),二是玉器(jade artifact),也就是玉文化中特有的器玉同称现象。本栏目《世说新玉》之玉是指玉器。玉器当然包括组成玉器的玉石。所以,这里的玉首先代表了玉在物质层面的两个意思,我们称为物质之玉。玉既是物质的,更是精神的。精神层面的玉,一般用玉文化来概括,具有大量超越物质的内涵。近二十年来,杨伯达先生倡导玉学,为国学之重要组成部分,用玉学就显得更加全面。玉学之玉是一个抽象的玉概
