今年9月,英国伦敦大学政治经济学教授迪帕克·库马·拉尔访问了上海社会科学院。这位大名鼎鼎的当代新古典学派代表人物是我们大家所熟识的。前不久,我们还将他的代表作《“发展经济学”的贫困》翻译出版,介绍给了中国读者。这次尽管是初次见面,但大家仍然感到就象会见老朋友那么亲热。拉尔教授今年53岁。他出生于印度拉合尔,1959年于印度德里经济学院毕业后赴牛津大学深造。历任讲师、研究员、教授,并且在联合国经济合作和发展组织、国际劳工局、工业发展组织、印度计划委员会、韩国计划部、斯里兰卡财政计划部等机构任顾问,后兼任世界银行研究员。
In September of this year, Dioc Kumar Lal, a professor of political economy at the University of London, paid a visit to the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. The famous representative of contemporary neo-classical school is something we all know. Not long ago, we also introduced to Chinese readers his translation and publication of Poverty in Development Economics. Although this meeting is the first one this time, everyone still feels as warm as meeting old friends. Professor Lar is 53 years old this year. Born in Lahore, India, he studied at Oxford University after graduating from Delhi School of Economics in 1959. He has served as a lecturer, researcher and professor. He has also served as a researcher in the World Bank since he consulted with organizations such as the United Nations Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the International Labor Office, the Industrial Development Organization, the Planning Commission of India, the Ministry of Planning of South Korea and the Ministry of Finance and Planning of Sri Lanka.
