英语教师在教学中都喜欢采用儿歌的独特形式和风格,以歌促学,寓教于乐:在课前两分钟预备铃后,在琅琅的英语儿歌声中,让学生沉浸到英语学习的氛围中;在课堂教学中,将单词编入儿歌帮助学生识记单词;用儿歌串联新授知识等等。英语儿歌是学生进行口语训练、培养学生英语语感的重要途径。《上海市中小学英语课程标准》的语言能力目标中指出“能背诵简单的英语歌谣”的要求,在《牛津英语》教材中增加了英语儿歌教学模块(Rhyme)。
