92年8月28日,在整修一新的南京图书馆大院内,一尊昂首雄踞在6米高、花岗石砌成的华表式圆柱体建筑上的和平龙青铜雕塑,栩栩如生地展现在人们面前,它是中日人民友好的象征。省、市有关部门领导和各界人士、日本朋友200余人出席了揭幕仪式。这座和平龙雕塑是由日本和平龙日中友好会赠送的。整个工程还包括灯光喷水池,凉亭花架、塑像座基等,由江苏省设计院设计,工程费用由日方提供。它的落成为南京增添了一个新景点。
On August 28, 1992, in a renovated courtyard of the Nanjing Library, a bronze sculpture of the dragon of peace erected on a 6-meter high, granite-painted Chinese-style cylinder building vividly displayed in people’s In front of it, it is a symbol of friendship between China and Japan. More than 200 leaders of provincial and municipal authorities and people from all walks of life and Japanese friends attended the opening ceremony. This peace dragon sculpture is presented by the Japan Peace Dragon Boat Festival Friendship Association. The whole project also includes lighting fountains, flower stands, statues seat base design by the Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Design, engineering costs provided by the Japanese side. Its completion adds a new attraction to Nanjing.
