光谱光效率(视见函数)V(λ)是光度学和色度学中的基本标准数据,在照明工程、光源生产、劳动保护、电影电视、纺织、造纸以及科研中的测光和测色工作,都需要用这个函数及其数据来代表人的眼睛,以便对客观事物的光、色作定量的评价。这个函数最早是用闪烁法和逐步比较法在国际上测定了200多人的眼睛光效率函数后的平均值(主要是白种人,没有黄种人的数据),由国际照明委员会(CIE)在1924年推荐并于1933年得到国际计量大会批准的。由于当时照明光源是钨丝灯,所以用这个函数评价的亮度和人眼观察的视亮度是一致
