《回族文学》创刊于1979年,是目前中国唯一以“回族”命名并在国内外公开发行的文学双月刊。为了推动中国回族文学和新疆昌吉回族自治州本土文学创作的发展和繁荣,进一步提升全国唯一、昌吉独有的《回族文学》在中国文学界的知名度和影响力,鼓励广大作家为《回族文学》创作更多精品力作,本刊特设立以《回族文学》刊名命名的《回族文学》奖这一文学奖项。首届《回族文学》奖评奖工作于2014年初开始启动,根据“首届《回族文学》奖评奖章程”有关规定,专门成立了首届《回族文学》奖评奖委员会,组成人员名单如下:
