《大上海一九三七》是一部反映上海沦陷之后,杜月笙的门生林怀部锄奸抗日,刺杀大汉奸张啸林的故事片。该片写的是现代史上的真人真事,但编导在审视历史、把握重大史实方面,却有不少偏颇和失误。一、关于时代背景影片名曰《大上海一九三七》,顾名思义,理应以上海当年震惊世界的『八一三』淞沪抗战为历史背景,而影片的中心事件却发生在汪伪政权已经建立的一九四○年八月。从一九三七到一九四○年间,大上海的政治形势发生了根本性的变化,时空上的阴差阳错,给人的第一感觉是文不对题。影片说明中写道:
