Based on the detailed analysis of the measured data, the study concludes that saltwater tidal waves at the Modaomen Channel in the Pearl River Mouth during the dry season of 2009/2010 are characterized by obvious early, fierce and significant impacts. Based on the analysis of the influencing factors of the strong salt tide retrospective, the study shows that: After August 2009, the precipitation in the Pearl River Basin caused by climate change is anomalously less than normal, and the sharp decrease of runoff is the result of the 2009/2010 dry season The main reason for the occurrence of salty tides is that tide is the main driving force behind salt tide upstream of Shaodao Men Channel. The stronger the tide is, the stronger salinity is. The sea level rise is an important factor for the occurrence of strong salt tide in Modaomen Channel. Against the background of global warming and sea level rise, the research is of great reference significance for understanding the rational exploitation and utilization of freshwater resources in estuarine areas, especially for ensuring the safety of urban and rural water supply in estuaries.
