《北京晚报》2002年9月9日有一篇名为《一次查询引来长期消费 手机短信强买强卖》的报道。一位刘姓先生惟一一次通过手机查询体彩中奖号码,不想却招来没完没了的烦恼:随后每次体彩的结果,对方都会“忠实”地通过短信通知他,刘先生对此甚为不满。事后,2858服务网站的一位工作人员称,刘先生通过手机查询了一次,他们的系统就自动将其视为注册用户,只要刘先生没有取消服务,系统就会及时将开奖信息发送给刘先生。而取消的手续其实很简单,只要将“285800”通过手机短信发送至2858就行了。
