东南大学图书馆是我国历史最悠久的大学图书馆之一,其前身是始建于1902年的三江师范学堂藏书楼。1923年国立东南大学时期,独立建馆,定名为国立东南大学孟芳图书馆,该建筑被称为中国20世纪初期图书馆建筑的优秀作品之一。一百多年来,图书馆先后经历南京高等师范学校“图书仪器部”、国立东南大学孟芳图书馆、国立中央大学图书馆、南京工学院图书馆等历史发展阶段,1988年复更名为东南大学图书馆。2000年4月南京铁道医学院等院校与东大合并,2007年3月
Southeast University Library is one of the oldest university library in China, its predecessor was founded in 1902 Sanjiang Normal School Library. In 1923, during the period of National Southeast University, an independent museum was built and named as Meng Fang Library of National Southeast University, which is regarded as one of the outstanding works of library architecture in China in the early 20th century. For more than one hundred years, the library has experienced historical development stage such as Nanjing Higher Normal School, Department of Library Instruments, Meng Fang Library of National Southeast University, National Central University Library and Nanjing Institute of Technology Library.
