In 2015, Fujian introduced a plan to tackle the problem by shutting down stone processing enterprises, building sewage treatment facilities, demolition of livestock and poultry farming in the water source protection areas and ecological restoration and management of mines and so on, and limiting the pollution to completion within two years. It was learned from Fuzhou Urban and Rural Environment Comprehensive Improvement Office that 212 stone slab companies in the city have all signed the shutting down agreement at present. The cross-section of Aojiang River Basin and the water quality compliance rate of mainstream are both 100%
