语言符号任意性和形象性问题,这两种观点之间的争论由来已久一直是语言学界存在争议的话题。本文通过语言符号的任意性和象似性的具体内涵,分析不同语言学家对这两个概念的不同观点,指出语言的任意性和象似性两个特点是共同存在于语言中的,和语言融为一体。任意性主要通过词汇层次体现出来,而象似性则主要体现在格式,段落,篇章等方面,二者可谓是互为补充。
The arbitrariness and figurativeness of linguistic signs have long been the subject of controversy in the linguistics community for a long time. This paper analyzes the different viewpoints of different linguists on the two concepts through the meaning of arbitrariness and iconicity of linguistic signs and points out that the two characteristics of language arbitrariness and iconicity are co-existing in the language and Language integration. Arbitrariness is mainly manifested by the level of vocabulary, while iconicity is mainly reflected in the format, paragraphs, chapters and so on, the two can be described as complement each other.
