Since 2002, Brazil has demanded that pesticide packaging should be collected and disposed of in a concentrated manner. At present, Brazil has become the country with the highest level of packaging of pesticides reasonably disposed globally. Brazil passed a federal law requiring farmers, producers and distributors to dispose of discarded pesticide packaging properly. In the past 13 years over 250 tons of pesticide packaging have been collected, accounting for about 94% of the total amount of pesticide packaging discarded by farmers in Brazil %. This result was achieved through the successful establishment of the Campo Limpo (Pesticide Packaging Reverse Logistics) system.
