Abstract Objective To identify and quantify tumor brain tissue adhesion in patients with vestibular schwannoma by testing the feasibility and practicability of Sliding Interface Imaging (SII). Methods Approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee and obtained written informed consent, 9 patients with vestibular schwannoma underwent SII examination. During SII acquisition, a low-amplitude mechanical vibration is applied to the head with a pillow-shaped device placed in the head coil. The generated shear wave is subjected to a phase comparison pulse sequence and a motion code gradient synchronized with the vibration Imaging. Imaging was completed within 7 min on a 3 T MRI system. The shear movement data obtained were processed using two different algorithms [shear line analysis and calculation of octahedral shear strain (OSS)] to identify the degree of tissue adhesion in brain tumors. Neurosurgery without knowing the outcome of SII
