早在20世纪80年代初,我就欣赏过潘公凯的不少水墨作品,那是小幅的写意花鸟,疏朗的布局、遒劲中含有俊秀意味的线条和清雅的墨色,使人感觉到他是在认真学习和领会了他父亲潘天寿先生艺术创作精神和方法的,且有自己的体会。后来,他在研究理论和做学院领导工作的同时,一直从事水墨画的创作。我偶尔也在展览会上和一些画册中看到他的作品,感到他的水墨在变,有两点突出的印象:努力和他父亲的绘画图式拉开距离,寻找自己的个性面貌;在不背离传统笔墨精神的基础上,探寻笔墨新的可
