建国以来我国第一部大型《工人组歌》是由中共株洲市委宣传部、株洲市文联、株洲市文化局联合组织创作的。组歌分昨天、今天、明天三大板块,共12首歌。株洲市委书记肖雅瑜亲任总策划,株洲市委副书记赵汀珍任执行总策划和创作组组长,株洲市文联党组书记、主席周文杰任策划和创作组副组长,著名词作家夏劲风任文学组组长,著名作曲家孟勇任音乐组长,创作组人员有黄建华等同志。乔羽、徐沛东、石夫、田晓耕为顾问。《工人组歌》的诞生在全国音乐界产生了较大的影响,本刊特选登其中5首以飨读者,其中还有一首《向着太阳走》(陈建新词、肖雅瑜曲)本刊已在2003年第1期刊登。
