棉花生产,对人类的重要性,几乎是尽人皆知的。新疆生产建设兵团一向重视发展棉花,在宜棉区大力种植棉花的同时,还积极开辟新棉区扩大棉花生产。早在五十年代就曾以无畏的革命精神结合科学态度,在苏联专家的技术指导下,开辟了我国当时最北的玛纳斯河流域新棉区。八十年代继而用地膜覆盖技术,配合博州各族人民开辟了更北的博尔塔拉新棉区。这两个棉区都成为产量高、质量好的区域之一,为国家做出了重大贡献。
The importance of cotton production to humans is almost universally known. Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps has always attached importance to the development of cotton and vigorously cultivated cotton in the area of Yibin while actively developing new cotton areas to expand cotton production. As early as the fifties, with the courageous revolutionary spirit combined with scientific attitude, under the technical guidance of the Soviet experts, opened up the most northern part of China’s Manas River New Cotton Zone. In the 1980s, mulching techniques were then applied to complement the new population of Bortala in the north with the people of all ethnic groups in Bortala. Both of these two cotton areas have become one of the regions with high output and good quality, making a significant contribution to the country.
