在毛主席“备战、备荒、为人民”的伟大战略方针指引下,我厂革命职工发扬了“自力更生”、“艰苦奋斗”的革命精神,七一年九月,奋战十五天,将我厂原有的一座二吨焦炭化铁炉改建成为煤粉化铁炉。一年多来,开炉六十余次,化铁二百余吨,铁水出炉温度稳定在1380~1410℃,浇注了30型车床床身、床头箱、溜板箱等大件、复杂件,铁水质量能达到铸造要求。煤粉化铁成本比焦炭炉降低三分之一。
