Gastrointestinal (GI) benign smooth muscle tumors are rare and can be quickly diagnosed when symptoms such as bleeding occur; however, many are accidentally discovered or excised together with other diseases for exploratory laparotomy. The author reviewed the 24 years of clinical practice at the Massachusetts General Hospital. And surgical pathology data to further explore the biological behavior and reasonable treatment of benign smooth muscle tumors of the digestive tract. Between 1963 and 1987, a total of 131 cases of digestive tract smooth muscle tumors were treated in this hospital, and more complete clinical data and pathological data were selected. and
