党的十一届三中全会以来,武钢坚持企业的社会主义方向,以质量求效益,以质量求发展,走质量效益型的发展道路,企业生产经营面貌发生了深刻变化。十年来,武钢实现了钢材产量、工业总产值、全员劳动生产率和人均收入四个翻番。产品质量有了很大提高,1989年按国际标准生产的钢材占总产量的85.6％,其中按国际先进水平组织生产的占73.9％,居全国冶金行业之冠。实现利税17.8亿元,比1978年翻了两番。上缴利税12.4亿元,是1978年的3.4倍。1989年,武钢通过了国家一级企业预评。
