云南省富宁、广南二县有一支人口不多的少数民族社团,壮族称之“布央”(pu(33)?ja:η~(44),意即语言、风俗与自己同中有异的人。他们在富宁县谷拉乡以及广南县底圩、八达、八宝等乡镇十几个村寨聚寨而居,约1500人。底圩乡央连村的布央人自称pa~(33)ha~(33)(又作村名),壮族称之“央连”(?ja:η~(24)lεη~(31),意为单一的布央人,因为周围只有这一支布央人。富宁县谷拉多的布央人则以他称“布央”为自称。从地方史志、地名和民间传说来看,清代布央人分布在黔滇桂交界地带,人口较多。近300年来由于战乱、迁徙和民族融合等原因,布央人不断式微。今三省区交界地不少壮族、布依族称他人或自己承认为布央人,广西那坡县的壮族则
