Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), with specific, sensitive, rapid, simple and economic characteristics, which in the field of medicine has been widely used. The mechanism of action of botulinum toxin on muscle is not fully understood. For this reason, we used enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to detect the myoglobin (Mb) in the animal model of botulism and poisoning. MATERIALS AND METHODS A. Experimental animal model: Twenty healthy rabbits were selected. Blood samples were taken for determination of Mb as a control and then randomly divided into two groups. A group received intramuscular injection of botulinum toxin type A 0.5ml per kg of body weight, each
