根据日本气象厅RyofuMaru调查船于 1 972~ 1 977和 1 989~ 1 990年间夏季在 1 55°E断面观测的水文资料 ,分析了该断面上北太平洋副热带海域 ( 1 8°~ 30°N)的主要水文要素———温度、盐度、密度、溶解氧含量和地转流等的分布特征及其与ENSO现象之间的关系。研究结果表明 ,上述诸要素的分布趋势是一致的 ,且与地转流场相对应。动力计算给出 ,在北太平洋副热带海域每年夏季均出现 2或 3支强、次强流或二者兼有的东、西向流动 ,并呈带状相间分布。东向流被称作副热带逆流。根据东、西向流带的数目推论 ,在该海域各年夏季可能存在 2个反气旋涡旋 ,即呈现 2个顺时针次级环流系统。
