当代科技特征及价值指向科学达到的认知水准和具备的技术能力,并不表明它足以预见科技应用对社会的深远影响,更无法深入解答人类的终极价值问题。正是在这一点上,产生了我们今天不时出现的科技与伦理、科学与人文的冲突。20世纪以来,科学技术更是日新月异,突飞猛进,取得了令人瞩目的辉煌成就。20世纪初,由相对论和量子理论为代表拉开了科学理论重大创新的序幕。20世纪中叶,分子生物学等新兴学科以及生物技术、信息技术、空间技术、海洋技术等高新技术相继涌现,形成了蔚为壮观的局面。科学对物质世界探索的拓展与深入,以及伴随而起的技术革命,其效应是巨大的,前所未有的。
