罗山县,位干河南省南部,大别山北麓,淮河从该北部县流过。这里山清水秀,物产丰饶,文化积淀深厚。1979年4月,该县莽张乡天湖村在修建水利工程时,发现商代晚期青铜器5件,当地文物部门闻讯后立即赶往现场清理,经调查后得知这里是一处商代晚期墓地。当年8月进行第一次抢救性发掘,随后在1980年7月进行第二次发掘。经过两次发掘发现22座商代晚期墓葬和
