职工大学在1985年以前曾有过一段“黄金时期”,在这段时期,学校得到了发展,也为社会作出了贡献。随着经济体制改革的深化,职工高校能否适应社会发展的需要而生存发展,是职工大学在深化改革中需要研究的重要问题。当前,我们云南省地矿局职工大学面临的形势是严竣的。由于地矿行业近几年来资金压缩,地勘单位任务不饱满,职工队伍臃肿庞大,大学富余人员很多,不但普通地质院校的毕业生很难分配,职工招生也逐年完不成计划。另一方面,云南省地矿局系统,科技人员年龄老化现象十分突出,而年轻职工的文化技术素质较低,不能适应野外生产的要求,迫切需要进行上岗前教育和专业技术培训。此外,
