在知识经济时代,随着图书馆体制改革的深入,图书馆事业发展在很大程度上取决于图书馆部室主任的工作,对部室主任的研究已经成为学界探究图书馆科学管理的一个重要内容。具体而言主要体现在两个方面:一、部室主任是管理者的角度,二、部室主任是被管理者的角度,此外还有对部室主任执行力建设、如何充分发挥管理中的作用及女性部室主任的研究。至于研究中存在的问题,主要集中在研究者的队伍组成、理论方法、研究内容、学术规范等方面。
