为反映老区新貌,宣传老区建设成就,了解老区建设中的问题,让有关部门和各界人民更加了解老区,关心老区,进一步扶持老区,汕头市老促会、老建办和老新闻工作者协会,在市委、市政府的支持下,联合组织了“老区行”采访活动。这次活动,得到了各级党政以及有关部门的重视和支持。采访团一行九人于4月下旬和6月上旬,先后到了潮阳市的红场、雷岭和澄海市的澄城、十五乡等13个镇、46个管理区(村),行程近千公里,参观采访了近百个点,访问了五位革命烈属和一些复退军人、基层干部以及不少村民。
