近代中国战争频繁,种种大大小小的战争从未间断过。因此,军事问题理所当然地成了当时不少政治家、思想家所关心和研究的重大课题。以先进思想家、实业家著称的郑观应,就是其中的佼佼者之一。在他的军事思想里,虽也有对付所谓“宵小伏莽”的一面,但主要着眼点是放在对付资本帝国主义侵略的抵御之上的。
