过期妊娠是指妊娠已达42孕周而尚未临产者。由于胎盘老化,胎儿过熟,使围产儿的死亡率明显升高。过期妊娠已引起大多数临床产科医生的重视。随着过期的时间延长,围产儿的死亡率可成倍的增加。死胎、死产率增加尤为明显。因而有些医师对42孕周或剐超过40孕周即进行引产终止妊娠以企图降低围产儿的病率和死亡率。但这种不相宜的处理更可对母、儿带来种种危害。因之如何正确诊断和处理
