In the 1950s, the United States built a series of vertical and horizontal interstate freeways, bringing tremendous changes and sustained prosperity to U.S. economic and social development. In 1993, the then-U.S. President Bill Clinton used the “Information Superhighway” as a national plan to rejuvenate the U.S. economy. Then all over the world, each country invested heavily in the implementation of national information infrastructure. In the past two decades, a revolution in information brought about by the rapid spread of information networks has profoundly influenced people’s work, study and life.
