多年来,我国学校体育器材比较常用的是正规的器材和自制器材。通过长期的实践,我们感到目前缺少一些适应儿童青少年身心特点的普及型体育器材。首先,器材与学生基本技能、基本技术间存在着差异。学生在学习中总要接触到一些新项目及新器材,由于学生初学,技能和技术都不熟练,如果器械的设计不合理,很可能造成伤害。有些器材成人化也容易使学生产生畏难情绪和惧怕心理,而影响他们的动作。如跨栏的栏架、底座、立柱均由钢管制作,栏板由硬木制作,总重量不少于10公斤,加上跨栏技术较复杂,学生不易掌握,容易碰伤摔倒,使得跨栏项目的普及受到限制。
