开展地震现场社会调查，是防震减灾法赋于地震部门的职责。试图通过对１９９０ 年常熟５－１级地震现场社会调查成功实例的总结和震后对策提供的新鲜经验，对今后开展地震现场社会调查工作起到积极的推动和参考作用，对江苏重点监视防御区的震害预测和制订防震减灾对策起参考作用。
Carrying out the social investigation on the earthquake site is the responsibility of the Earthquake Preparedness and Disaster Reduction Law in the earthquake department. Trying to summarize the successful examples of the social investigation of the 5-1M5 earthquake in Changshu in 1990 and the fresh experience provided by the post-earthquake countermeasures, which play an active role in promoting the social investigation of the earthquake site in the future. Earthquake damage prediction and formulation of earthquake mitigation strategies play a reference role.
