据菲律宾《亚洲杂志》周刊四月八日报导.印度旁遮普邦圣城阿姆利则的一位锡克族人辛格·阿扎德经过刻苦锻炼,形成特大的肺活量,在几秒钟之内把胸围扩大八英寸.即从三十二英寸扩大到四十英寸,而常人只能扩大两三英寸。阿扎德今年四十三岁,是阿姆利则海关的检查员。他说他之所以能有这种特大的肺活量.是因为不断进行深呼吸和练习举重的结果他曾在印度的一些城中作过表演,并向全世界运动员提出了比试肺活量的挑战,目前为止还没有人应战。
