The CRISPR/Cas9 system evolved as a self-defense mechanism for bacteria and archaea [1].Based on a small customizable guide RNA and the Cas9 nuclease,it has now been retooled asmolecule-sized programmable scissors,which can precisely cleave target at any desired position in multispecies genome.It holds great hope for precise therapeutics for human diseases [2,3].
