Overview The newly built Drum Tower Hospital South expansion project includes emergency rooms and inpatient buildings. Upon completion of the project, Drum Tower Hospital will become a modern and comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, scientific research and teaching. It will operate under a new institutional and medical model. The hospital is located in Nanjing Gulou District Zhongshan Road and Tianjin Road between the north face of the Drum Tower. After the expansion of Drum Tower Hospital covers a total area of 63,100 square meters, with a total construction area of about 200,000 square meters, the total number of beds is 2000 beds. The newly expanded part covers an area of 28,800 square meters, construction area of about 112,500 square meters; the number of beds is 1000 beds. The completed Drum Tower Hospital will be a fully functional Grade A First Class Hospital with a full range of clinics, emergency departments and advanced medical clinics, and will become one of Nanjing's landmark modern hospitals and Asian medical centers.
