Since its establishment in 1952, COFCO has been committed to the development of China’s foreign trade and trade and the world’s grain, oil, and food trade. In 2004, the cumulative amount of import and export trade reached more than 130 billion U.S. dollars. More than 3,000 merchants from more than 120 countries and regions have established a good and stable trade cooperation relationship. In 1997, the company’s operating scale was 13.5 billion US dollars. At present, COFCO has 8 headquarters and 30 operating units in the country, 19 directly-affiliated organizations overseas, and a networked operation by European holding company, Asia-Pacific holding company and Americas holding company. In 1994-1997, COFCO Corporation was honored by the United States for 4 consecutive years.
