Vitamin C plays a role as a cofactor in enzymatic hydroxylation, so the body often has an increased need for this medicine in the common cold, rheumatoid arthritis, infectious diseases or stress conditions. Vitamin C stored in human body needs white blood cells and platelets; taking vitamin C loading dose 500mg, increasing the dose of aspirin can make plasma vitamin C concentration increased while the concentration of leukocytes decreased, indicating that aspirin can reduce the absorption of vitamin C by leukocytes. If given as aspirin 600mg, can completely inhibit the absorption of vitamin C by leukocytes. Therefore, physicians taking rheumatoid arthritis patients taking large amounts of aspirin should be accompanied by vitamin C.
