From 1968, the first short story collection “Happy Shadow Dance” to 2012’s new book “Dear Life”, Monroe published fourteen short stories in his more than 40 years of creative career. She insisted on writing short story teasing techniques and has won numerous awards, including three Canadian Governor Awards, two Giller Awards and Commonwealth Writers Award, Booker International Award, Oh Henry Award and the National Bookstore Award.
