文章解读了华裔作家马敏仪的自传体小说《纸女儿》,分析主人公如何在生存空间的错位中经历了身份消解。这种个体文化身份的消解在空间转换中形成,在以家为代表的华裔族群内部中性别、经济地位与文化歧视,以及在以学校为代表的美国主流社会,被刻意边缘化的境遇中逐渐明晰。小说揭示了美国少数族裔群体在空间错位与身份消解的尴尬状态下的生存局限与心灵危机。
The article interprets the autobiographical novel “Paper Daughter” written by Chinese writer Ma Wenyi and analyzes how the protagonist has undergone identity resolution in the dislocation of living space. The digestion of individual cultural identities is formed in the spatial transformation. Gradually, in the circumstances of deliberately marginalization of the gender, economic status and cultural discrimination within Chinese-headed ethnic groups represented by their families and the mainstream American society represented by schools, clear. The novel reveals the survival limitations and spiritual crisis of American minority groups in the awkward state of spatial dislocation and identity digestion.
