锦衣卫制度的建立是明代社会背景和朱元璋个人因素综合作用的结果,是封建社会末期中央集权高度发展的产物;明代锦衣卫制度的设立及其在有明一代一直没有被废除有其必然原因;由于明初建国时加强皇权的需要,再加上朱元璋的贫苦的出生环境造就了其对于统治阶层欺压百姓的厌恶和多疑的性格,朱元璋在当上皇帝之后,采取了“以猛治国”的理念来维护自己的独裁统治,这些因素都使得锦衣卫制度的建立具有一定的必然性。
