Since the discovery of the first hormone, secretin, at the beginning of this century, a rush to find hormones began. Islet endocrine is one of the goals we all watch. At that time already know, islet and diabetes related. But many attempts to extract pancreatic hormones or eat pancreatic tissue to treat diabetes have failed. In 1909, De Meyer, in an impatient mood, pre-empted this not-to-be-born endocrine “baby” as insulin. Two years later, Scott found that it is the trypsin in the pancreas that destroys insulin in the extract. But people just can not overcome the technical difficulties to make insulin extraction successful.
