I was shocked by the immediate scene. In summer sunshine, a cluster of sunflowers are in full bloom in the country road. Green and thin stalks of the engineered gigantic disk, such as the war spear halberd directed at the sky. The edge of the disk is a petite golden petal, curled inward, wrapped in layers of flowers, like guarding a long-awaited dream. The outermost petals have been stretched, tender and blazing, as if the jerky throated magma, spread radially around and flowing under a blue sky. That upright gesture is the sunflower to declare its existence to the world with the pride of a newborn.
