The Cerro Verde ore body is the largest porphyry copper mine discovered to date in Peru and is now included in the first mining project of the state-owned Peruvian mining company. The project is completed in two phases. The first phase of the production of electro-oxidation oxide ore, has been put into operation in June 1977. Two
