It is an object of the present invention to provide a process for preparing propylene oxide which provides acetaldehyde removal with reduced acetaldehyde content. More specifically, the present invention provides a process for producing propylene oxide which comprises the steps of: reacting a hydroxylamine in a reactant with (a) hydrogen peroxide or hydrogen with oxygen and in acetonitrile Propylene (b) in a solvent, acetaldehyde contained in all or a part of the reactants into acetaldoxime in the presence of a catalyst, and then isolating or removing acetaldoxime from the reactants; recovering the reactants obtained in the above step or Propylene oxides in the reactants.
