紫云三社全社土地依山傍水(当地叫馬牛水,为涪江上游支流之一),土为冲积土、黃泥夾沙,中等肥沃度。1956年种附子41.8亩。次年收附子共40.928斤,平均亩产979.13斤,其中高产地1亩,亩产1,400斤。一般产量高出全县平均亩产607斤的61.28%,高額产量高出130.5%。主要的經驗是: 一选好葯种全部采用安县黄陽溝出产的葯种(由社員亲自購运回来,未与其他葯种混杂)。全系南瓜叶良种。这种烏葯的特点是:植株健壯,莖高,节間稀,叶形较大,抗病力强。因此整个生長期間沒有灰苗的病象,無缺苗。同时,由于植株健壯,很多植株的根部都留成2个側根,長成2个附子(比一般植株多留一个附子)。
