泰山顶上的无字碑,是一件有趣而神秘的文物。由于无字,故对其所立时代众说纷纭。史传为秦始皇所立,而清代顾炎武力排传统的说法,主张为汉武帝所立。今人郭沫若、李锦山亦持相同看法。而顾铁符先生于1964年第5期《文物》登的《泰山没字碑的性质与时代问题》一文中,则倾向于东汉安帝所立。我认为此碑还是以传统的说法最正确。今考辨如下:
No monument on the top of Mount Tai, is a funny and mysterious artifacts. Because there is no word, so the age of its controversial. Historian was established by the Qin Shi Huang, and Gu Yan of Qing Dynasty row traditional saying advocated for the Han Emperor Wu established. Today, Guo Moruo, Lee Jinshan also hold the same view. In Mr. Gu Tiefu’s article entitled “The Nature and Time of the Monument of the Mount Tai without Monument” published in the fifth issue of “Cultural Relics” in 1964, he preferred to be established by Emperor An of the Eastern Han Dynasty. I think this monument is still the most correct in the traditional way. This test is as follows:
