The language of Dong-Shui language is “mu” ~ 4, linguistic language ~ “γuη ~ 3”, “buan ~ 4”, “water language” They are a group of cognates from the perspective of phonetic correspondence and etymology. In other languages of the same language, “Guan” is respectively called Zhuang (Wuming) ha: k ~ 7, Haak ~ 7 in Hainan Island, pu ~ 4sai ~ 5 in Dai and Bahasa (Xishuangbanna dialect ) xun ~ 1, Li language mun ~ 1. Compared with these languages, the Dong-Shui languages are self-contained. As can be seen, they have different origins. The “official” characters in each language of the Dong-Shui language can be formulated as? M / buη. From the internal language point of view, muη ~ 4 or ~ buη ~ 3 are single-word, it is difficult to find the source of the word, can not find the corresponding word in Chinese. Through further comparative study, it can be affirmed that it is not a Chinese loanword, but originated from the Chu language “Mo Ao” during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period.
