构树又名沙皮树,是桑科构树属(学名:Broussonetia papyrifera,Vent),树皮纤维柔软,富拉力,是制造沙纸、复写纸、腊纸、绝缘纸等的好原料;还可制作人造棉,纺织高级的布料。叶和幼嫩枝梢可作猪的饲料,种子油供制皂、油漆,果及根皮入药,补肾利尿,强筋骨。剥皮后的树杆又可作薪炭。我县石山地区的贡川,金钗等八个乡的群众,善于经营构树,曾发展到一万多亩构树林。用其树皮加工成的“贡”字沙
