云县地处滇西横断山系纵谷区南部,全县辖12个乡2个镇193个办事处2022个自然村,有近7万户、37万多人口,白、壮、回、苗、傣等16个少数民族占总人口的34.5%。全县有土地面积550余万亩,其中耕地面积为92万余亩,占总土地面积的16.9%。地貌以侵蚀中山为主,主要山脉为云岭、怒山山脉余脉,属云南历史鼠疫疫区。当地鼠多、危害大。
Yunxian County is located in the southern part of the Rift Valley, the southern part of the Rift Valley, in the west of Yunnan Province.
